Birth Partner

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is it free?

The app is free to use. There’s an optional Birth Ready unlock that adds the deeper material — a single one-off payment, not a subscription, so you buy it once and keep it forever. You’ll see exactly what that costs in the app before you decide anything.

Is this medical advice?

No, and it never will be. It’s educational and it’s for rehearsal. Anything about her health or the baby’s should continue to go to your midwife or maternity triage, the app says so every time it comes up.

What happens to my data?

Everything you write is kept on your device and on secure servers. It is never sold, it isn’t used for advertising, and there are no ad trackers. Every service behind the app is named in the privacy policy. You can export or delete everything from Settings in two taps.

Is this only for dads?

No. It’s for whoever will be beside her: a dad, a partner, her mum, her sister or a friend. The app asks who you are and talks to you that way.

Does it work on iPhone, Android and a computer?

Yes. Get it from the App Store or Google Play, or open it in any web browser. Sign in with the same account and it picks up where you left off.

Can we both use it?

It’s written for the birth partner, but she’s welcome to read along. If you both want it on your own phones, each of you can sign up.

What if the baby comes early?

Tell the app the baby’s arrived and it moves on to the weeks after. And if anything feels off before then: trust it. Call your midwife or maternity triage, any time of day or night.

Is it useful for a caesarean or a home birth?

Yes. It covers caesareans, home births, birth centres and labour wards, because plans change and it helps to know them all.

I bought Birth Ready. How do I get it on a new phone?

Sign in with the same account and it’s there. On iPhone or Android you can also tap Restore purchases, just under the unlock button.
